About Nathan
Nathan Johnson is a film, television, celebrity and real women’s make-up artist who has worked in the industry for over 16 years (1/2 his life). Some of his most notable credits include Project Runway (Season 4 and 5), Big Gay Sketch Show, The Tony Awards, The Early Show, Good Morning America and Beast (off-Broadway). He has worked on over 80 famous faces ranging from Paul McCartney and Annette Bening to Alan Cumming and Ice T, still, his favorite client remains ‘the real woman’.
In print, his work has appeared in the pages of many magazines including Rolling Stone and Elle. As a beauty writer, he has contributed articles to Genre, Access Hollywood, Sephora (at least once monthly) and Running With Heels (weekly). He has been quoted in Harpers Bazaar, Glamour and Fox News.
Over the course of the past 4 years, Nathan has consulted privately for four major make-up and skincare lines. During that time, he perfected existing products, formulated many of his own, improved strategies for brand awareness and developed new approaches to marketing.
Between his writing and research, he has fostered strong relationships with many of the leading cosmetic brands. Nathan is honored to serve as the Executive Make-up Artist for Beauty Society (www.beautysociety.com).
Nathan’s personal mission is to make America more beautiful one woman at a time. He achieves this through education and empowerment.
He received his Bachelors from Marymount Manhattan College, his Masters from Columbia University and his formal Make-up training from Make-up Designory.
